New Requirement for the Tungsten Carbide Cutting Tools with High Speed Machining Process
There is a new requirement emerged for the tungsten carbide cutting tools in high speed machining area,with which the rotary cutting tools such as milling,boring ones would be broken owing to the severe centrifugal force,thus it requres strongly reliable tools' body and inserts-clamping structure,as well as considering of dynamic balance for the rotary tools,otherwise,the machined workpieces's surface and tools' service life would be influenced owing to the rotary unbalance with the tools resulted in the whole processing system vibration.
In the high speed machining technique,a lot of problems such as inserts geometry parameters,tools' body structre,insert-clamping structure,the fixing methods between the inserts and lathes,the tools clamping measures with the high-speed spindle,adding the dynamic balance with rotary tools.Usually,the high-speed cutting tools'rake angle is 10 degree smaller but the clearance angle is 5~8 degree bigger than the normal speed ones,meanwhile the radius angle also has to be enlarged properly,as well the cutting edge length with the tungsten carbide tools are shorter.
On the other hand,the study with the shank is also a very imprtant case,as in the high speed process,with high speed rotation of the cutting tools,the open-part of the shank should be expanded because of the centrifugal force,leading to the cutting tools positioning precision and connecting rigidity decreased.
