In the auto and aerospace manufacturing area,its requirement for the surface roughness is higher and higher,making the ceramic cutting tools play more and more important role in these areas.No matter it machines normal steel parts or alloy steels and hardened steels(Hardness<HRC45),the cermaica tools provide it with stable service life and good surface roughness.

On the other hand,users have to be cautious when select the ceramic inserts for machining work,as the machining features is significantly different with the coated tungsten carbide ones,as the cermaic ones are unsuitable to do the rough machining work,furthermore,when the chips are large,the shearing work and cutting resistance would be changed badly,resulted in consistant impact,which makes the size deviation and cutting tools broken finally.In the meantime,in the deep and big cutting work,the impact caused by the large chips on the back side of the tools will aggravate the scratching wear,leading to the damage with the tools,especially it is more easily emerged if machine the hard-to-be-machined materials such as nickel,iron,and cobalt base thermal-resistance alloys.

Therefore,the ceramic cutting tools are not suitable to machine the hard-to-be-machined materials,but the coated tungsten carbide ones are good at doing this work and rough machining job.On the contray,as the cutting volume is bigger in the high speed cutting work,so it is more economic and the ceramic tools are the economically high speed cutting tools.
