Using Rules of Tungsten Carbide Drawing Dies


We must abide by the following rules in order to obtain the best properties of tungsten carbide drawing dies ,and achieve its longest service life and get high-quality drawn metal products
 
1)      Selecting the proper tungsten carbide grade as per the size, physical and mechanical parameters of the drawn materials’.
2)      Checking the drawing machine and mould before begin drawing ,the start-up and drawing speed have to be controlled stably and uniformly ,without any run-out,otherwise the drawing dies would be damaged easily .
3)      Cleaning up the drawn metals’ surface carefully (such as heat-treatment,pickling,clean and drying etc),if did not prepare well ,it would reduce the drawing dies’ service life , leave scratch on the drawn metals and make poor surface quality. 
4)      Selecting the lubricants correctly could extend the dies service life and improve the drawn metals’ quality .Drawing the big diameter or medium diameter of the steel or iron wires ,recommend to take dry lubricant such as soap or quarry .However ,if draw small diameter wires ,recommend to use wet lubricant such as the soap water .The lubricant could cover the metal’s surface completely.Meanwhile the lubricant is unavailable to be stopped during in the drawing process,otherwise it will reduce the die service life and make poor surface quality .
5)      Cooling on dies and lubricating on its working area both could extend the die’s service life 
6)      Selecting proper compressibility as per the drawn metals’ specification and properties could extend die’s service life and increase working efficient .
7)      Paying attention to the surface condition of the drawn metal in the drawing process .If found the scratch on the metal surface due to the metallic particles adhesion to the die’s hole ,Must stop drawing machine immediately and take off the metallic powder with the wooden pestle dipped in abrasive paste ,and then polish the hole shining .Meanwhile ,must clean up the metallic powder completely before using it in next time. 
8)      There is not any metallic powder adhesion in the drawing die’s inner hole ,must check it regularly ,If any thing abnormal ,take action to treat it immediately .
9)      The drawing dies should be kept well ,and the ones machined but would not be used temporarily ,which must be smeared with anti-rust oil to be protected .
