The New Development of Tungsten Carbide Grade for Cutting Tools(4)
SECO from Sweden introduced three high performance ISO-P tungsten carbide coating grades such as TP1000,TP2000 and TP3000 in the past 2 years. The new introduction of TP2500 general ISO-P tungsten carbide coating grades ,known as the “New Line Standard”, which was developed from SECO new generation of Triple-Zero substrate by means of taking DurAtomic coating technology to integrate into the completely tungsten carbide coating grade. The a-Al2O3 of DurAtomic coating grown up from atom .Comparing with general CVD a-Al2O3 coating ,the DurAtomic coating has better wear-resistance and tensile strength .TP2500 was designed as preferred grade for turning common steel(ISOP15~P30),also it is available to be taken as replacing grade for ISOM20 and ISOK30.As introduced by SECO technicians, the new TP2500 inserts improve working efficiency by 50% and service life by 300%.
LMT-BOEHLERIT from Germany developed successfully “Yellow Al2O3 Composited Coating “technology by means of MT-CVD technique ,coupled with their Durotec transitional coating with tooth-shape ,making the “yellow Al2O3 composited coating” and transitional coating not only have very good adhesivity ,also with good heat-diffusing performance. Meanwhile the introduced insert grades SteeltecLC215K and LC225K .LC225K is available to reach 300M/min cutting speed when machine steel, meanwhile its service life is increased by 30% comparing with other tools .On the contrary ,the grade SteeltecLC225K is risen on toughness on the base of LC215K ,so its service life is prolonged by 30% on its original base .
