On the contrary ,known as Tiger cutting tools coating material precisely on this point has been successful .A very special crystal structure test technology keeps highly exact test result, which also provide the possibility to further improve and optimize the performance .When other detection technologies are only available to take 1-dimensional test on the coating crystal ,Walter had successfully developed 3-dimensional test on the crystal ,meanwhile can get very exact test result .In addition this detection technique is the prerequisite for precise-adjustment of the crystal structure .
 
 
Besides the merits mentioned before ,actually CVD also has very serious weakness.As the high cutting temperature (800~1050℃) would low the toughness of the tungsten carbide substrate and generate tensile stress which cause the cracks in the internal of the cutting tools material.However ,the tiger’s coating material solve this problem well .The tribology shortcoming of TiN coating technology developed originally for machining cast iron,which is disappeared completely in cutting steel .As the TiN exists in the flank face of the cutting tools,so we can see the wear marks ,however this process also help us get another useful result.
After imposed mechanical energy on the coating’s surface ,in addition to increase its hardness ,also can convert the harmful tensile stress into the compressing stress resulting in substantial rising of the toughness .By this way ,the steps to improve the coating material’s high-temperature wear-resistance (such as using tungsten carbide substrate with low cobalt content ,and decrease thickness of coating ) and loss toughness and decrease the reliability in producing process are omitted .
