The Future for Dry-Cutting
Not only the cutting tools materials ,coatings are involved in the dry-cutting ,also cutting inserts geometry structure, shank structure ,machining lathes, cutting parameter and machining means are included. So we have to develop new materials of cutting tools,pay attention to the reasonable match of cutting inserts’ and workpieces’ material ,avoid diffusion and adhesion of them.
New cutting tools material is concentrated at super-hard cutting inserts material,ceramic,porcelain,coating,high-speed steel and tungsten carbide with high performance.ISCAR is very concerning with R&D of cutting inserts coatings,as it combines high hardness,wear-resistance,heat-resistance,toughness ,anti-adhesion,chemical stability and low friction coefficient.The development of dry-cutting technology depends on the development of coatings mostly .
Not only we have to study the hardness ,toughness,heat-stability of the cutting tool materials,also have to pay attention on its suitability, and the function, character and performance of workpieces in dry-cutting process.Meanwhile the geometry design of cutting inserts,its shape and reasonable determination of geometric parameters play very important role to reach high performance of the cutting tools in dry-cutting process.Hereby ,ISCAR never stop to develop the cutting inserts with higher toughness and more stable and reliable clamping means ,in addition ,considering to reasonable adjustment of cutting inserts quality ,and make the expansion of its body uniformly. For the geometric parameters ,we emphasize its principal as low cutting force and cutting temperature .
Dry-cutting is a concrete manifestation for the production concept of clean environment ,not only it reduces producing cost ,also promotes progress of cutting tools technology ,especially brings a totally new green-manufacture technology,it is the final goal of manufacturing.
