Grade Selection for Tungsten Carbide products
Tungsten carbide rods with diameter tolerance at ±0.008mm,concentricity at ≤0.005mm,and straightness at ≤0.005mm take its function as hole-driller for pears, jewelries,shells,agates,crystals,jades and glass etc decorative.
Grade GN03 is ultrafine grain size tungsten carbide rods with high shock and wear resistance performance ,it is the ideal drilling pin for process hole of super-small diameter. Meanwhile its service life is 4~6 times than while steel ,and generally used for machine holes with diameter from 0.2mm~0.7mm.
However ,for the common function of tungsten carbide tips ,how we should select grades for them ?Actually the grade selected as per its actual needs. Of course ,to correct selection of the grades influence the working efficiency and cost definitely .Different grades for different material of workpiece .Consequently ,we have to know and command of the carbide tips’ performance and application scope ,and then can select the right grade. The common grades in the machining fields are YT5,YT15 and YT30 that are completely capable to take the general machining work .These grade for process are allocated as following:
YT5 is only for rough machining due to its low hardness and wear-resistance ,but it is not broken easily in machining nonstandard parts.
YT15 is for semi-finish and finish machining ,as it is good hardness and wear-resistance at a certain extent,also used for finish machining if not high requirements for the parts .
YT30 is for finish machining and machine high hard parts with hardness at HRC55.its main character is very hard at HRA93.5,but is broken easily if machine non-standard profile parts .
