The Characters of Hardness Test for Tungsten Carbide
Tungsten carbide is a metal, we can find out the mechanism difference of tungsten carbide materials in different chemical content, structure and heat treatment process, consequently, hardness test is widely applied in testing of tungsten carbide performance, supervising heat-treatment technique and studying of new materials.
The test for hardness of tungsten carbide material ,we mainly take Rockwell hardness tester to get its HRA value .PHR series portable hardness test is very suitable to test tungsten carbide hardness ,which weight is only 0.7kg ,and its precision is same as desktop Rockwell hardness tester .It is very convenient to use and bring .
The characters for the test of tungsten carbide are that ,it is not broken-test and the test way is very simple .The adaptability of tungsten carbide hardness test for the sample shape and size is very strong with high efficiency .In addition ,there is a correspondence relationship existing among the hardness and other physical properties .
For instance, the test for the tungsten carbide hardness and tensile strength are basically test the metal capability for resisting to plastic-deformation. These two tests have some similarity in some extent. Consequently, its test result could be compared with each other .The test for tungsten carbide tensile strength need big equipment, and process very completely, need make sample and test efficiency is very low. Meanwhile for some materials ,there is converting form for hardness and tensile value .Consequently, at the time of inspection of the tungsten carbide mechanical performance, people are increasingly use the test of hardness and less use of tensile test .
