How to Take Tungsten Carbide Brazing Work Successfully

1) Thoroughly inspect of the carbide cutting tools
a)Check whether the cracks or other defectiveness existed in the surface of carbide cutting tools
b) Clear off burrs on the cutting tools
c)If the surface oxidized, taking grade 60 green silicon carbide grinding wheel to grind off it firstly

2) Fusing agent selection
a)Clean off the oil, rusty surface
b)Fusing agent takes the function to against oxidization of cutting tools and holders caused by heating.

3) Even Heating,slow cooling
a)The bottom of cutting tool holder should be heated firstly(only for oxygen welding)
b)Even heating, avoid hot cracks.
c)No over-heating,when the solder smelted and flow freely, the temperature is ok,if over-heating,it will make the solder burned loss and oxidization emerged.

4)To clean off the adhesive materials between the carbide cutting tool and the holder,in the brazing process, the cutting tools should be removed slightly, so as to eliminate the adhesive materials in the welding position.Meanwhile, the cutting tools and inlaid groove have to be checked carefully,in order to keep they are filled with solder moistly.

5) Slow Cooling
a)The tungsten carbide cutting tools are not be hardened in the water after brazing, otherwise, the cutting tools will be cracked.
b)The cutting tools made of tungsten carbide grade used for finish machining work, they are unavailable to be cooled in the air directly.
c)If weld the parts with heavy stress and easy to be cracked features, the cutting tools should be put into the incubator after brazing process, and then heat to 200~250℃ to be kept for 6~8 hours.
