Shot-Blasting Improves Reliability of cutting tools coating’s
Known as Tiger’s shot-blasting strengthen process on cutting tools’ coating ,not only decrease toughness loss also improve the cutting tools reliability in working ,so as to enable the dream of the cutting tools coating materials researching technicians in application of CVD coating for very long time ,which excellent wear-resistance and toughness .This also make the Tiger’s cutting tools coating materials available and suitable to machine cast iron and steel.
On the other hand ,there is same new and successful innovation in PVD coating application field too. The indexable PVD costing carbide inserts are famous for its good toughness in the world, however for a long time there is not oxidized coating. Comparing with CVD coating, its high-temperature wear-resistance is restricted .In 2005 ,Walter introduced PVD-Tiger series products ,so make it possible to use the PVD coating in high speed and high toughness cutting tools. In the meantime, the coating used in this field is still Al2O3 with phase a, even though we can use other connection layer materials, which have not been put into massive production yet. However ,one point we have to admit that to adjust the coating’s inner stress with aim according to the actual needs for cutting tools will bring dominant benefits ,as it will make the CVD coating apply more broadly .
