The Critical Technology Difficulties in Tungsten Carbide Cutting Tools for Gears and its Auxiliary Blades
1) The Processed material with very high surface hardness, when the tungsten carbide cutting tools take machining work on its by intermittent cutting usually ,meanwhile as the cutting speed is high ,so it has very high requirement on the performance of the tungsten carbide materials
2) The gear with high precision, after chamfered, the processed parts have very high requirements on its crown volume and symmetry. Meanwhile, as it is shape-machining on the gear’s chamfering face, the tungsten carbide cutting inserts edge is a space curve with high precision .Thus it is hard to design, machining, and test on the carbide inserts
3) The shank head size can’t be too big due to the restriction of the processed part shape and spatial structure of the lathes .On the other hand, the shank head‘s toughness must be high and its size can not be too small owing to the high hardness of the process part, fast cutting speed and heavy cutting force of the tungsten carbide cutting tools.
